Marjani Taylor

Marjani Taylor

Marjani Taylor is a graduate of Stanford University where she won a National Championship as a starting forward on the women’s varsity soccer team. While at Stanford, she also trained as a classical singer in the music department.

After college, she played professional soccer in Iceland for 4 years where she met her Icelandic husband. After returning from her adventures in the land of fire and ice, she was able to once more pursue her passion for theatre as Martha in Almost Famous Theatre Company’s 2019 production of Guys and Dolls.

Her passion for theatre was ignited at a young age after seeing a mesmerizing performance of Phantom of the Opera (and she attended every Broadway show with her parents since she was a week old). At 10 years old she performed in her first show as Erzulie in Once on This Island. She later performed in many other shows throughout the valley (between college and playing professional soccer in Iceland), including Godspell and Dreamgirls.

She is a classically trained pianist having graduated from ASU’s Piano Preparatory Program before studying with renowned concert pianist Robert Hamilton.

Marjani is thrilled to have found a home at Almost Famous Theatre Company where she was most recently played as Donna in Mamma Mia!, Linda in Cash on Delivery, and Maria in The Sound of Music. She hopes this is only the beginning of a long line of productions under Jan and Garth Williams’ expert tutelage.
