Sylvia graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Physical Education and minor in Spanish. She did her student teaching in Quito, Ecuador and was hired by The American Alliance Academy to be their girls’ Phys Ed. teacher. Being a former college gymnast, Sylvia saw the need for a young girl’s gymnastics team. Choreographed and played Dulcey in The Boy Friend and choreographed and danced in the ensemble of Oliver. Sylvia has performed with some local artist productions such as Zarco Guerrero’s La Pastorela and some of his Dia de Los Muertos festivals.
Sylvia has been in different theatrical environments and believes that Almost Famous Theatre Company run by Jan and Garth Williams has been the most talented, fun, and caring groups of people that she has encountered in theater so far. It is all due to the professional standards, leadership, and respect that Jan and Garth show towards their actors and students. Sylvia has performed in the AFTC productions of Young Frankenstein, The Odd Couple, 9 to 5: The Musical, Gypsy, and The Drowsy Chaperone.
