Holly Wright

Holly is a huge theater geek!  She fell in love with theater after moving from New Hampshire to Arizona in her teenage years and was exposed to all the productions the valley has to offer.  She saw shows all over town at Arizona Broadway Theater, Gammage, and the Herberger.  Each being just another to check off the list.  Holly finally got involved with theater by participating annually in the whirlwind, three-week productions known in her school district as Summer Theater, the first one being Les Misérables.  It is such an experience to build out such an intense show in only three weeks of rehearsal, but it also bonds you to theater itself.  Holly participated in three seasons of summer theater and was the stage manager for both high school productions her senior year.

Flash forward: Holly graduated from ASU with a BA in Digital Culture always thought it was a pipe dream to be on stage again after entering the land of adulthood.  Until 2017, when she was asked to be the Stage Manager in AFTC’s production of South Pacific.  Jumping at the chance to be around the stage again, the answer was a quick yes.  And she’s been a part of every show since.  With a love of behind the scenes action, Holly multi-tasks in a variety of roles such as stage manager, sound designer, costume repairer, and set construction/painting.

Every now and again, Holly can also be found on the stage living out her childhood dreams of performing.  She is so thankful to Jan and Garth for taking a chance and casting her as Trix in The Drowsy Chaperone, her first onstage role since high school (and first solo role ever!).  She has appeared since in Noises Off (Poppy), Guys and Dolls (Agatha), and was cast as Lisa in the 2021 production of Mamma Mia!

Holly has a vast number of hobbies outside the theater including reading, playing video games, painting, drawing, and working on websites (like this one!)  She also loves to travel when time permits.  Favorite locations include Ireland, Montenegro, and Spain.
